Contest Rules

  2. Ace Hardware Corporation is not responsible for any late, lost, delayed, incomplete, or misdirected entries. Ace Hardware Corporation is not responsible for lost connections, miscommunications, failed computer or telephone transmissions or technical failures. All entries become the property of Ace Hardware Corporation and will not be returned.

  3. "What Is This?" Game?": Three semimonthly winners will be randomly drawn from eligible entries every Friday starting with the June 20th, 1997 drawing. Submit Your Tip Contest: All hardware monthly tip contest entries will be reviewed by an Internet committee conducted by Ace Hardware Corporation. Decision of committee is final. One monthly winner will be chosen the last day of each month from the submitted ideas gathered during the specific month. For semimonthly drawings, all entries must be received by 11:59 pm CST. On the Thursday prior to the Fridays drawing date. For the monthly drawings, all entries must be received by 11:59 pm CST. On the day prior to the drawing date as described above. Drawings to be conducted by Black Dog Design Co., whose decisions shall be final and binding in all matters relating to the sweepstakes. Odds of winning a monthly or weekly prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the specified time period. By participating, all entrants agree to be bound by the official rules. The winners will be notified by mail. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a publicity/liability release and return it within 14 days of notification to receive a prize, otherwise prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. By accepting prize, winner agrees to the use of his/her name, photo and/or likeness in any promotion activities related to these contests without further compensation, except where prohibited. By accepting prize, winner agrees to release contest sponsor and its agencies from any and all liability for injuries and/or damages of any kind sustained in connection with the prize. No prize substitutions except provided herein. All local, state and federal taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize is nontransferable and non-redeemable for cash except as provided herein. Ace Hardware Corporation reserves the right to change or replace prize element with another of equal or greater value should feature prize(s) become unavailable. Void where ever taxed, restricted, or prohibited by law.

    Ace Asks Trivia Contest: All entries must be received by 11:59 pm CST on the last entry date as noted on the contest entry page. All entries will be reviewed by an Internet committee conducted by Ace Hardware Corporation. Decision of committee is final. One quarterly winner will be chosen the first day following the end of the entry period from all submissions received during the official entry period. Quarterly winner will receive $100 in universal Ace gift certificates.

  4. PRIZES: For each weekly contest there will be three (3) $20 universal Ace gift certificates awarded. These are redeemable at participating independent Ace Hardware stores. For the monthly Submit Your Tip contest, a John Madden autographed football will be awarded. Web site will display which gift is being offered for this contest on a monthly basis. All prizes claimed will be awarded. If prize notification letter or any prize is returned as undeliverable, the corresponding prize will be awarded to an alternate winner.

  5. ELIGIBILITY: Contests are open to both foreign and legal U.S. residents 18 years and older at time of entry. Employees of Ace Hardware Corporation, Black Dog Design Co., and the respective affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers, sales representatives, distributors, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate families of each are not eligible to enter. Subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Individuals may win each contest only once per month.
