When your washing machine springs a leak, check the washing machine hoses first. Washing machine hoses are relatively inexpensive and easy to replace. If you need to replace only one washer hose they are available in single packs, but in the event you need to replace both, some washing machine hose replacement kits come with two hoses – one for the hot water line and the other for the cold water line.
If the issue isn’t with the water flowing into your machine, but rather the water flowing out, you’ll need to consider replacing the washing machine drain hose. These hoses are typically larger in diameter than those connecting your machine to hot and cold water sources.
Make sure to consider the length you’ll need for either type of hose before making a purchase. While hot and cold lines typically extend directly in to your machine, drain hoses might need to extend a longer distance to reach a drain pipe or to discharge into a nearby laundry tub.
