First off, I'm an electrical contractor who does his own work, meaning I'm on the job till its done.
I use this radio on every job that allows, and it has worked flawlessly. I really enjoy the compartment that houses the batteries. It allows my phone to be protected while on the job, which is a big plus if I'm listening to music or podcasts.
The design allows the radio to be knocked over and still have all the important mechanical parts to be protected which is very helpful on any job where other workers may not show the same tenderness to your "tools" as you would.
I have one really big gripe concerning the radio though. It would be very helpful to have a charger built in so that you can charge your battery as you are enjoying some tunes. I would be essentially killing two birds with one stone as it were.
Also, it would be a plus if there were exterior 120v outlets, preferably GFCI's, since many jobsites would require them (especially locations where ground fault protection is needed).
Finally, the cherry on the top would be a remote control that would allow the user to operate the radio at a distance. The less time I spend walking back and forth to the radio, and fiddling with the controls, is more time a can devote to the job, allowing me to get home quicker (which means more time with my family).
I sincerely believe that these extras would push Milwaukee's Jobsite radio over the top, and there's nothing like being the guy whose radio is better than the "other" guys brand.

My first and probably my last Milwaukee product purchase. I expected this radio to at least last a year in the type of use I put it through. It sat near my machine at work until I took an office promotion and moved it to my office.
I work in a clean factory, where the unit was moved from my locker area to my machine about once a week. About a week after I moved into an office, I plugged it into the same outlet that my company laptop plugs into, and pressed power. Nothing. Has not powered up since. Complete failure as a product that costs over
$100.00.

I will be tossing this into the dumpster, and replacing it with a Sony, that a few of the guys have used around here for over five years.

Really a shame this is my first impression of Milwaukee tools.

Comments about Milwaukee M18 Wireless Jobsite Radio (2890-20):

Love this radio. Only cons so far are my phone (galaxy s6 active) doesn't fit in the auxiliary compartment with my case on without hitting the aux cord plug, and it doesn't charge the battery. However I have gotten about 35 hours of use with volume turned almost all the way up using the battery so taking my case off is worth it

Comments about Milwaukee M18 Wireless Jobsite Radio (2890-20):

The radio is heavy duty in its construction. I feel if I dropped it 4+ feet onto concrete it would still work. Compartment for mp3 player or phone is handy to keep it out of the elements. The antenna worked well and picked up the same stations as my truck. Price may be high to some, but you get what you paid for with this radio. Worth the money if you want good quality sound in a work environment.

Comments about Milwaukee M18 Wireless Jobsite Radio (2890-20):

Have had this radio playing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for over 5 years now. It hangs in a dairy barn and is subjected to dust and humid conditions and has performed flawlessly the whole time. Lesser radios fail in these conditions in a little over a year. I'm ordering another one to store on the shelf until I need it. My luck would be that about the time the old one would fail, there'd be a "new and improved" version that would be anything but.

I put a new 18v battery pack in it, even put 2 AA batteries in it..nothing! I was hoping to get more than 4 yrs out of this (jobsite) radio!!! Does it pay to have fixed!?!?!?

It would be awesome if it would double as a battry charger, and had bluetooth. It seems a little out of date for the tech that is now out now, and over priced for the basic fuctions.

Comments about Milwaukee M18 Wireless Jobsite Radio (2890-20):

I use this radio on jobsites as well as on the weekend while camping, fishing, etc.

Its a great radio and the compartment is nice to keep my phone in. Shortly after buying it the right speaker stopped working and when I took it to the local repair shop they told me it was out of warranty. I wouldnt expect something like that to happen so soon.

Id consider that when choosing a jobsite radio. The main reason I got this one is because I already had a Milwaukee Drill.

Comments about Milwaukee M18 Wireless Jobsite Radio (2890-20):

i just started renovations at home, mostly DIY stuff. longest tedious project is painting the whole house. tho the house is empty, there's still a lot of prepping. while i'm prepping upstairs, i'm still able to hear the radio from downstairs clearly, so the radio is certainly powerful enough, and i didn't have to push it pass the halfway point on the volume control

made wasn't as well made as japanese products but for something that's made in China, it's doable. radio reception is crystal clear, i wasn't surprised because radios came a long way in getting reception, but was glad that i have no issues with it.

i also love the color as well as the metal handles on the radio. and because it's made box-like, it's easy to store and easy to handle or "throw it around".

i was disappointed that it was NOT bluetooth equipped but it's not a big problem. the more expensive radio has bluetooth but it's also a tool battery charger and i don't need that feature so i opt for the cheaper model and am satisfied with it.

Decent radio, mainly use it for outdoor projects around the house.
          Problems:
The buttons for changing the radio station and volume suck, it takes a seemingly very long time to go from low volume to high. The buttons are almost delayed and need to be pushed in deeply. Other issue is it does not charge batteries. And the USB port has never worked.
          Pluses:
I've had this radio for over a year and use it pretty regularly.... It gets thrown around and still works great. it always puts out great sound. The M18 batteries last a good while in it too.
The bottle opener is a great touch.

When I saw the size of it the fact that it has six handles none much good for one handed carrying the ac lead does not detach store away so tends to hang off the back I thought I had bought a lemon but then I put in one of my m18 battery's that last for days and the sound quality is fantastic and you sort of forgive it's short comings It would be great if it was smaller decent handle and a ac lead that stored better they would certainly be points I would have addressed before fitting a bottle opener lol

I bought one of these in my first few months when I got this job almost a year and a half ago. I work at a CNC Machining company so it can get very loud in there at anytime. Every day it has played and charged my phone at almost its max volume for 8-12 hours a day and I have NEVER had a single problem with it. With all the abuse it had gone through from being dropped several times, metal shavings, small amounts of water(mostly rain), and all day use in the garage and outdoors. I absolutely love this and I have actually bought three of them since my first one, the other two being gifts. There are only two things that I did not like about it and one of them is that it cannot charge the battery pack while it is plugged in so you have to buy a charger for them as well and that there is no remote.

Got it the week of June 9th a week later I returned to the electrical supply house where we got it from, it just quit working all of a sudden. Also we bought this item because we thought it had a charger Included like all the other brands but no it does not charge the battery. Dissapointed

I really like the radio it sounds great and has really good reception. The only down side is that it doesn't charge your batteries while it is plugged in so that you don't have to have it and a charger plugged in. I know the dewalt and some of the other brands are able to do this so I would hope you add this to your future radios.

Use bungee cords to strap it to a 4 wheeler or atv and it is the best for the price you can get. Also great for canoeing or kayaking down the river. Great investment.

This radio is a great partner to have when going to the ballpark. We play year round here, and at times it rains like cat and dogs. I like rolling my cart into the beer gardens ready to party, yes that's right I said party. Understandibly this unit doesn't charge, but then if interferrence was the issue I'm glad they didn't included it. I can't wait for the new radio.

Comments about Milwaukee M18 Wireless Jobsite Radio (2890-20):

The tone control and power make it useful for both radio and music player use.
I also like talk radio when I work so the tone controls and power allow adjustment for clear voice listening over site noise. The radio is missing the 12 V pug as advertised on the Web site and Specs. The instructions do not elaborate on use of the USB port?
A charge feature for the batteries in the bay or 120 V outlet would be good but not a show stopper when the sound and quality of the construction is so good.
It is a great addition to my collection of Milwaukee cordless tools.

If you are looking for a music making, room filling sound boom box made with Milwaukee quality that you expect from your other Milwaukee tools, look no further. I debated and read reviews for months before making this purchase. A/C, 12v, rechargeable batteries from your other tools, and the Price point is right along with features. I use Bose and expect quality in craftsmanship, durability and finish. I'm very pleased!! Thank you.

Milwaukee 2790-20 Jobsite RadioI was so excited to get a radio with IPOD MP3 capabilities. I got it out of the box, turned it on and sounds great. Plugged in my IPOD to a playlist and it worked awesome for 10 MIN!! Then the sound disappeared. I thought it was my IPOD unplugged it then turned to the Radio FM & AM. Still no sound. I hope you make up for this by getting this fixed or I might go back to Dewalt for permanent.
