Went to a big box retailer and found all of there lead paint test kits were expired. This kit has a good shelf life and works great. Red/pink is the presence of lead and amber is the color of the chemical agent. Takes about a min per swab to test. I used this to avoid a pricey lead paint inspection on a pre 1978 home with peeling paint, because we are trying to finance through USDA / FHA. I would recomend to anyone, and can save you $$$ on paying someone to test and waiting weeks for results. I even tested some paint I knew had lead in it and it did pick it up.
