This mower would be great if you had a perfectly flat lawn that was 100% turf and looked great. My lawn is not perfect (like most people) and is mostly a gradual incline up a hill. This mower is impossible to push up hill. It bogs out and if you set the blades low it will get catch the dirt under the grass-completely stopping the reel. When it would push smoothly, it refused to cut the grass evenly. I could cut my lawn better if I were blind and had a weed wacker. I would not recommend this mower to anyone. Steer clear and look for a better green option. Mine is going back.

This mower is pretty awesome and for the price, you can't beat it. My self-propelled Honda mower of 10 years finally died on me and I needed a replacement. My wife suggested this mower because she wanted to help out mowing the lawn, but she wanted somenthing earth friendly. This mower happened to be the first reel mower we looked into. Before purchasing this mower on [@], I ended up borrowing my neighbors push mower to finish mowing my back yard. The pusher mower was a craftsman and was fairly light for a mower. My back yard isn't too big, so I was able to finish mowing in about ten minutes. My Honda being self-propelled took about 15 - 20 minutes depending how long i let the grass grow. Using the push mower opened my eyes to just how fast you can really mow your lawn without the self-propelled feature. Back to the Fiskars, I went ahead and ordered the Fiskars for [$] on [@] with free shipping. It arrived in about 3 days. I assembled immediately. Assembly was less than 15 minutes and we were ready to mow. The only thing was, it rained. We ended up waiting a few days. Mowing day finally came upon us and WOW. It mows pretty effortlessly, very comfortable mowing at the right height and pretty fast. A little effort does need to be exerted when going through a thick patch, but with the right amount of momentum, it blasted through easily. My wife tried and enjoyed using it too. My nine year son even joined in. Pros: easy to assemble, easy height adjustment, fairly easy to push dictated by how much effort and speed is exerted, cuts neatly, very safe to use (my nine year mowed with it with guidance of course), no gas, no fumes, no allergens getting sprayed all over my face. Cons: Does not cut tall weeds all the time (requires a few passes when it does work). I end up just pulling them out by hand. That's it in a nut shell. It's not for everyone, but it definitely is for my family. Great product. What once took me about an hour to do, I can now do in half the time. I have a corner lot so my front lawn considerably bigger than the back.

First time to use a reel mower and chose the Fiskars based on some research online. Very happy with the ease of use and quality of the mowing. Hit a bump and a pin fell off, but I had some spares...might have been my fault for the setting. Being able to set the handle in 4 optional ways is a great feature, however. Not any more difficult to push around than the old electric we had prior to this one, and this is an even "greener" choice.

This mower is very light! It can be hard to push (for my wife, but not for me) through VERY thick, long, dense grass....but other than that it's easy. Adjusting the cut height is very easy as well. It's also very quiet.

The one 'CON' I would say is that it does leave SOME spots uncut if you only do one pass. If you're not very particular about your yard...it probably won't bother you. If you are...it's nothing a few selective second passes can't correct.

I am very impressed with the mower. Particularly, I was surprised how easy and little effort it was to push and adjust the height of the mower. I have about an 1/8 of an acre weedy yard, and overall it did a great job mowing all types of grasses and other weeds. However, the mower was not able to cut some types of weedy grasses that produce long seed stalks (≥12 inches). So the few leftovers (which were not many) I had to cut them manually with a pair shears; no big deal. The reason that these grasses got long was because my gas lawn mower had died, which is another great feature of the mower; no more gas, oil and fumes! The mower is also amazingly silent.
