I had a lesser known brand from a big big store. It rusted beyond belief in only 6 years. I am very meticulous about taking care of my possessions and was very disappointed with that grill.
My sister who has owned Weber grills for 30 plus years told me to stop complaining and buy a Weber. Last week I purchased an EP-310 Weber grill. Talk about a night and day difference. Had it a week and look forward to many meals prepared on it. The quality is suburb !!!

This is my 2nd Weber. My first finally wore out after 15 years of service and a LOT of grilling.
I got a 2010 model (same as photo, except knobs are on the right tray, not the front) with the stainless steel grates, and since it was a closeout I got a great deal!
The grill heats up quickly, and cooks quickly or slowly, however I need it to and cleans up very well.
I tried an off brand a year ago, but since I live in a windy area, the ligher grill was literally thrown across my deck, so I'm very happy to have a heavy duty grill I won't have that problem with!
Also: the people at O'Donnell Ace Hardware in Des Moines were awesome. They were friendly, polite and even delivered my grill and took the old one away! I couldn't be happier with them!

I have been through several cheap grills that performed OK but I was always disappointed that they broke down or rusted out after a couple of years. Weber grills are pricey no doubt but the quality is top flight. Food is heated evenly throughout, although BTU's are lower than some other grills I have not found this to be a problem. I believe the construction & design helps heat and keep heat very efficiently. I like the Stainless Steel grates although I cannot find a big different over cooking on Cast Iron. I do like that Weber changed the burner direction from left to right to front to back on this grill, at least for me this makes it easier to regulate how fast various foods cook.
Finally there are many Weber Dealers, I went with Ace Hardware. They assembled the grill, delivered and even hauled away my old grill. They even carried the grill off the ground the entire way to my back deck. I felt like they really respected my property and my new grill. A++ Happy Grilling!

My Genesis ES310 replaced my previous Genesis which I had for fourteen years. It served me well with several flavor bar and grate replacements and was still going. I'm sure the new Genesis will preform just as well after my short experience with it. It is great with a whole chicken on the spit. Heats quickly, sears well and good indirect cooking. Be sure to read the cookbook for times and method of cooking. Very helpful!

I bought this grill from Ace at the end of the season last year (2008). I got a pretty good deal at [$] (incl tank and fill and 6% tax). This grill gets up to temp really fast in about 8-10 minutes (that's with outside air being below freezing!). Other grills with the same or better features than this grill are out there, but they feel like they're made out of tin foil and plastic. This grill is super-solid, heats evenly and is a joy to cook with. No frills. Just top-quality, trouble-free grilling. My only small complaint is that the casters limit the grills mobility. Rolling the grill from garage to lawn and back is not an option. Plan to leave this grill on your patio or deck. One final note: Be happy you live in America. I saw this grill for sale at a [...]shop in Europe for 999 Euro (about $1440)!!

Make sure you check the models out and get the details you want. IE; stainless grates vs. standard. I have only had it a few days but I am amazed at the technology and how perfect this grill cooks.. my last Weber wore out after 12 years and it was smaller Spirit, I am looking for 15 out of this one.
