We needed to put cake mixes, flour, cookies etc in mouse-proof containers. We can see which bin has what we are looking for without going through each one so we don't need to label the constantly changing inventory. If a mouse did get in one, we would see the evidence through the clear sides.

Clear totes with removable covers allows some visiblity of enclosed items. These were the best priced totes I had found. Ordered them online to be picked up at my local store.

I bought these as an 8 pack which made them a great price. Clear is always best so you can see what's inside. A clear lid would have been nice also. They are partially "frosted" so the clear area is limited. Fail to see the reasoning behind this. The size is good. I refer to it as laundry basket size, or a good armful. Much smaller and its not as useful (for mass storage anyway). Any larger and they can be unmanagable. The lids click on quite well. Not as good as a flip up handle maybe but better than some others I've seen. The biggest draw back is the amount of taper from top to bottom. Certain items or combination of items that don't fit in the bottom will fit farther up in the tub. It means the bigger items are on top. This is the exact opposite of the way you would normally stack things in a pile and makes packing them well, a little counter-intuitive. The ends also have an indented area that limits the efficiency of the packing space. And I think all tubs have rounded corners so none of your boxes of things will ever fit flush to the edge. EVERY brand and style of tub has drawbacks to its design, but for size, partially clear, stackable, sturdy tubs at the sale price: These are very good.
