Broom comes in 3 pieces to limit store (and home) shelf space and for easy transport home. Can be quickly disassembled if you are tight on space in storage shed etc. Since there were so many reviewers who couldn't figure out how to assemble and gave it a 1 star, I will elaborate:
.
1) Separate the Broom from the Handle
2) Remove triangular locking hood (on broom).
3) Screw in handle to broom
4) Slide hood down from top of handle and lock it in place (hexagonal locking piece adds durability).
5) Place broom on floor and push.
.
This is an excellent residential broom for the money. If you need a commercial version, then spend 2x as much. Soft exterior bristles combined with hard interior bristles makes for easy cleanup of any exterior tasks.

This broom is packaged in a way that makes it extremely difficult to put together. The giant yellow plastic screw that attaches the stick to the sweeper has been screwed in so tightly that it is very nearly impossible to unscrew. Sliding the sweeper to the end of the stick takes considerable strength. The assembly instructions begin by assuming you are able to get the thing detached from it's shipping doodads, which makes this a very frustrating puzzle. Also, there are three heavy duty plastic pieces left over (which are not recyclable) that don't serve any purpose once the thing is together. Brooms should not be this great a mystery! Just duct tape the parts together; no one should be this annoyed with a product before it is even used!

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® 24in Indoor/Outdoor Push Broom:

No written assembly instructions, and assembly illustrations are misleading. I finally figured it out by myself. Follow the step-by-step instructions by "Woodstock Homeowner" and you'll do just fine.
I'm guessing the "hood" piece was added to the design after so many complaints of broken handles, and it should fix that problem.

Broom was used on patio about 6 times. The plastic handle snapped off. Attachment point should have been made of metal not plastic.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® 24in Indoor/Outdoor Push Broom:

This broom literally broke the very first time I pushed it on smooth concrete in my garage. ACE must get a ton of these returned. Spend a little more money and get something better that isn't made out of plastic.

Purchased last year at half price, used it first time this spring to sweep grass clipping on sidewalk, the broom caught the edge of the grass and cracked where the handle screws into the broom block. Plastic connector is not very sturdy!! The connector should have been made out of steel just like the handle. Very disappointed!!!!
