We bought two during the Ace Hardw Jan 2012 sale and compared their readings-setting them side-by-side and remotes side-by-side. After a day of adjusting they both read the same to 1/10 of a degree...I also compared the outdoor readings to a much more expensive Oregon Scientic In/Outdoor thermometor and were typically wihtin .2 of a degree. One potential problem is the the readout lettering is light grey with very little contrast..this can make it difficult to read in dim light-All in all, I believe it to be great great value

Was what I wanted to see indoor and out door temperature at a glance. Was disapointed in its small sise and lack of back light to see in darker rooms. It was not the top of the line but better fit my budget. It is performing as expected and I really like it as I do early AM workouts out of doors so I'll now know what better to wear.

Comments about Taylor Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer (0077784013038):
Bought one of these and it did not work. I tried multiple sets of known good batteries but no luck. Would never display the outside temp from the portable sensor even when it was less than 10 feet away. Do not waste your time. Buy a Lacrosse brand and be done with it.

Comments about Taylor Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer (0077784013038):
Outside temp is all over the place! But mostly it reads almost the same as inside temp! I bought it for reading the outside temp, but It doesn't even come close to the approx temp!
I have changed batteries and reset it numerous times.
BTW It doesn't mention TAYLOR anywhere on the product !

It's accurate, easy to set up except for the remote sensor battery installation (you have to open the semi-circle part in the back, pull up the backcover by the forceps along the edge of the grove, and you can find the place where you can install the batteries on the remote sensor)

Comments about Taylor Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer (0077784013038):
While it isn't 'waterproof', sensor can be used outdoor if placed correctly. My first unit lasted 12 years. I must have done something right!
1. Never in direct rain contact. I mounted mine on the house-side of a patio post. Only rain that reaches there is heavily wind driven and we don't see much of that out here.
2 Don't apply sealant to outside case seam. What little water vapor enters the case must be allowed to escape. Sealing case will NOT prevent water vapor entering.
3. If possible, Lithium AAA batteries. They are expensive but will last mch longer than alkaline batteries, but check them once in a while for corrosion.

The remote unit is not waterproof so it cannot be used outside. There is a plug to hook up a temperature sensor but they apparently are not available.
