I did a very small job where the owner was on a budget so I reccomended Ace's Royal brand. The total square foot of the job 192sf so they bought one gallon of this paint (guy at paint desk told her this is better than the discontinued Royal) in a deep base. I figured this would be enough with a roller.
Not only was this not enough paint but it took me about three times as long to paint the wall. Its thick, its heavy (it feels like thinned Joint Compound) it didnt cover half of the wall. I honestly have not labored this hard to paint a vertical surface in my life. I recemmended, in lieu of buying two more gallons of this paint that we do a color match and use PPG pure performance and buy one gallon. So we did and the next morning we finished the entire wall and had enough left over to do a light second coat. I ended up only charging half on the labor becuase I felt like a crook when I totaled the bill.
Royal was very easy to work with. This paint is for from a budget choice for profesional painters.
