Comments about GENERAC Royal Gloss Solvent-Based Porch & Floor Enamel - Gallon:

I used the paint on a boat over well sanded fiberglass, on a very dry day with temps about 68-70. After three days of clear warm dry days and nights it had only just started to harden on the surface. So soft in fact it couldnt be touched with out peeling it off. I used both the white and grey colors, and they both didnt dry. I read the can and it said it takes 30 DAYS TO COMPLETELY DRY!!!!!! Granted, had I read that prior to buying the product, I would have NEVER used it. What good is a paint to be used on a deck, if you cant walk on it for a month?!!!! Buyer beware!!!! I now have a mess to deal with.

Comments about GENERAC Royal Gloss Solvent-Based Porch & Floor Enamel - Gallon:

Used this product on painting wooden furniture.

I was actually looking for a white paint called Varathane Polyurethane. I had used it in the past and found that any furniture painted with that product resisted wear and tear.

Couldn't find that product anywhere, even on the net. FOUND this porch paint and out of need and desparation gave it a go! It out performed the polyurethane all together.

My daughter and I are going into food service and needed furniture that could be constantly wiped down with water and bleach, as well as standing up to constant use.

The product dries in a about a day (with humidity being low.) Requires only two coats. The white is "clean" and not yellowing. BEAUTIFUL! I will be searching to see if it is made in different colors.

Comments about GENERAC Royal Gloss Solvent-Based Porch & Floor Enamel - Gallon:

Used Royal Porch & Floor Alkyd Enamel on interior garage concrete block walls and a few wooden steps to basement. After 6 days the paint was still soft and certainly couldn't be walked on. Spoke with courteous Paint Pro at Ace and was told "It may take up to 30 days to dry for walking on."

Yesterday I bought a similar product (also an Alkyd) from a store that specializes in paint. I painted the remainder of the block walls and the basement steps/stairway. This morning I walked on the steps without a problem, after only overnight drying. The Royal applied, now 6 days ago, is still soft and easily scraped. I'll scrape the Royal from the couple steps I used it on and paint with the other product. Royal Alkyd Enamel is basically unusable due to the prolonged drying time.

Comments about GENERAC Royal Gloss Solvent-Based Porch & Floor Enamel - Gallon:

This is absolutely the best stuff for concrete! It seals nicely, and gives a nice even coat. You must give whatever concrete you are painting two coats! Any mild, moist, smell you have in a basement will be eradicated with this! It's durable as well, it can take a fair beating. I'm a carpenter turned teacher - from a long line of carpenters.... any basement , garage or porch I have used this on --- never regretted it. I have used this as an undercoat just for good measure. It's no-where near the nightmare epoxy can be! I highly recommend it! Enjoy! -(Hector Valentin)

Good alternative to epoxy paint, expecially for basement. Drying time may be longer than stated. On concrete plan on 2-3 days or more before any use. On wood, it dried much faster. Hardest paint I have ever used.
