Please note:
Scotts step 1 is good stuff. Fertilizer is one of those items whose label you should read. It is NOT for applying with a newly seeded lawn. Anything with crab grass preventer that is not specifically 'starter' or 'for seeding' will prevent new grass seed from germinating, essentially killing your newly seeded lawn (along with crab grass of course). I believe Scott's makes a 'Step 1 for seeding' if this applies to your situation. Best of luck.

Fertilizer in this produces vibrant green, except for the four foot swatch I missed during application. Have high hopes for step 2.
