Needed to use plumbers tape to correct leak from faucet and hose area. Plan on getting a second one and know now to use the tape before the first rain fall.

For overflow of gutters and save water. I had problems with plastic faucet it wouldnt shut off and seal didnt seal. I replaced it with a metal faucet and new seal and Ace took off 20% of cost of parts.

Water reserve for 'dry spells'. Lots of outdoor plants are moved into the screen room during 'winter' and the rain barrel waters them all. Yes, the Florida Panhandle DOES get some freezing winter weather.

All materials needed to connect are included, but the spigot is of low quality and is difficult to turn off and on. The connection to the downspout is basically set for a 3X4 downspout. With a 2X3, there is no overflow back to the downspout when the barrel is full, hence it overflows to the barrel location as rain continues.

From what I can tell all rain barrels are incredibly overpriced. This product as priced from Ace was lower than most. The reversible cover is a clever idea that I did do to plant flowers in the top of it. The diverter that goes into the gutter is clever but they need to develop a 3x4 inch diverter. It's rather silly to put the 2x3 inch diverter in since it won't cover a single side of the gutter completely so I went to [@] and got a 3x4 that installed simply and covers the whole size of the gutter. Other than the inadequate diverter I have no negative comments. It's a plastic barrel... what can you say?

We already had three rain barrels in the back yard that are rather utilitarian in appearance, but wanted one in the front yard that would allow me to water a hard to get to garden area without being unsightly. This barrel is just perfect. The design is ingenious, it was not a difficult install, and it is pretty unobtrusive, even while being located in the front corner of the house.
