My sister gave me my first one, and after some years, I finally wore it out. Couldn't wait to get a new one, and my neighbor borrowed it all the time, so I bought her one. Then a young man used my second one on a huge root that was all knotted up, and the blade finally gave up. Guys, it's for medium branches! So now I have of course immediately ordered another, because I can't live without it.

I have used this lopper for many years. Keep it clean and sharp and it cuts through branches like cutting butter with a hot knife. Like any tool, it will fail if abused or not cared for. Mostly, you just need to keep it clean and oiled to prevent corrosion. I did break the blade once by cutting a branch much larger then I should have been cutting. I happened to twist the blade slightly while cutting the large branch and the blade snapped due to the twisting action. Unlike other manufacturers, Ace has a replacements blade (Ace No. 7099948) available online or in the store for just $5.99. With the new blade I expect the lopper will easily last another 10 years.

It finally needed a new anvil - and the store ordered one! Why isn't this on the website to order online, I don't know. Lots of trees on my lot and bushes. Use it for all, (even though its supposed to be only for dead stuff). Works great, lasts long.

I loved these until I tried trimming off dead lilac branches. One of the rivets snapped and now it's useless. They work very well, but as soon as you feel you have to put more effort to get a branch to give, you'd better stop or your shears will bust!

Mine cut the thinner branches well, but when I tried to cut a limb,the blades lost a connector rivet & broke apart.
This model carries a lifetime warranty, but I can't find the receipt.

My property has dirt roads overgrown with brush, including mesquite, desert sycamore, and white thorn. I was impressed with how well the clipper handled relatively large branches but I accidentally twisted the clipper while cutting the very first day I had the tool and the blade snapped in half. Be careful not to do the same and I think you'll be happy with the clipper's performance.
