I have the a cold kitchen and needed extra heat. I bought the Cadet basebroad heater with built-in thermostat. As the weather got colder the heat kept coming on, even at night when I didn't need it. I couldn't turn it off completely. I replaced the thermostat with a new BTF1 thermostat thinking I had a broken thermostat. Only to find the problem continued. I wrote to Cadet customer service and they set me on the right road. I needed the double pole model BTF2 which has a positive turn off. Nothing wrong with the BTF1 it was the temp in my kitchen.It was below the bottom range of the BTF1 which caused the heater to keep coming on. Both BTF1 and BTF2 both work very well. You just need to know which one you really need.
