Good Pump
This pump comes with a 2 year warranty. I just replaced it after 8 years. Seems to be a good pump. I did have to replace the float switch once possibly twice.

Comments about WAYNE Ace® Sewage Ejector Pump (APEL50):
Have looked all over for an Impeller replacement for the composit Impeller if they exist at all. Had the pump in operation for only one year and something hard must have gone through the system. Cheap pump but does it need to be a desposible Item for a homeowner ??

Cons
- 18" for switch to work
Best Uses
Comments about WAYNE Ace® Sewage Ejector Pump (APEL50):
Everything about the pump is great except the 18 inches needed for the switch to operate. I relocated the switch to lower and higher positions in the basin to no avail. Either it wouldn't switch on or off depending on the position. I called the technical assistance line for a possible replacement with smaller angle of travel and was told that there was no other switch available. It would have been great to know about this BEFORE I bought and installed the pump!

Comments about WAYNE Ace® Sewage Ejector Pump (APEL50):
I hired a professional plumber to install. He allowed me to shop on my own for the pump. His pumps were over $400. This was less than half the price and it seems to work well.

Comments about WAYNE Ace® Sewage Ejector Pump (APEL50):
my grandmothers street is on a downslope that recieved a LOT of rain and flooded every house in the area. i went to ace and got this pump with a fire hose and threw it into her basement and it took about 4 hours for this pump with a fire hose to empty out 4 feet of water and then i let her friend use it and his basement was about a foot from the rafters it took about 10 hours for it to empty out his basement. it preformed like a champ at draining out the basements but when my grandma decided to have it installed into the sump pump hole to replace the other one which still worked but the float malfunctioned and no power... this pump worked a few months and then the rocks in the bottom of the pit wore away the plastic disk on the bottom of the pump. great amazing sewage pump. bad sump pump replacement.

Comments about WAYNE Ace® Sewage Ejector Pump (APEL50):
This product works great, WHEN IT WORKS PROPERLY. Seems to have given us a few scares already. Bought in July 2009 already three times I have had it stop working filling up my bath tub and toilet with waste water, when in process of getting ready to remove pump it starts to work. I am not sure what is wrong with this pump. Having nightmares with waste water flowing throughout the house. Don't know what to do at this point and time. Is this going to be a recall item?
