This fan is designed for small windows, so no, it is not going to cool a garage. If you want to do that, buy a BIGGER fan. I bought this fan for taking out the steam and humidity in my bathroom while showering and it works great. Not to mention, this is the only manufacturer i can find who makes window fans small enough to fit my bathroom window. If you are looking for a bedroom window fan, Holmes makes good window fans.

I have two fan's similar to this (Home Essentials (tm)), and I think they are made by the same company. I purchased them about six years ago, and have had no trouble until the hurricane. After the abuse of 80 mph winds and a torrent of rain being blown through them, only one of motors has stopped working. Now I am on this site looking for a replacement. The many years of perfect service these fans have provided make them about the best purchase I have made in the last ten years.

I just bought this fan today. I had been using two cheap eight inch fans with clips in the window and I thought this would be much more efficient. I was wrong. The clip fans actually move more air that this window fan. It looks like the other window fan brand might actually be a decent window fan. I will return this fan tomorrow and try the other brand.
