This coffee pot has been a dedicated purchase for about 20 years now, but we have to replace it every 6 months to a year. The cord becomes loose at the back of the coffee pot, and sometimes if you wiggle it, the machine will work. I think the constant unplugging of the cord makes it very loose. I just tried to order another cord and can't get one for a month. The coffee pot I have is only 6 months old. We like the coffee, and if it weren't for my elderly mom, I wouldn't buy this anymore. Farberware should come up with a better design regarding the cord plugging in the back of the pot. This can be dangerous. If you don't mind buying new pots constantly, or ordering cords, then you are going to atleast have some great tasting coffee.

This is a nice percolator and looks more sleek on my counter than the coffeemaker I had there. After only a week of use the only con I see is the lack of a start button. You have to continually unplug and replug it in to use it. Otherwise, the coffee is delicious!

We use our perc everyday, & makes great tasting coffee. Only problem is we've been through three in the last couple years. Seems like the heating element or thermostat burns out after a couple months. Hate coffee-maker taste and won't go back, so considering a stovetop model because of this.
