I had the opportunity to use both this model (Swift Sweep) and another Bissell (Sweep Up) and the Sweep Up seems to do a much better job on my carpets it getting the little pieces of thread, etc. that are left over after using a regular vacuum. Under the same conditions the 21012 picks up a lot more dirt (more in the capture area). The 2201-2 (Swift Sweep) doesn't seem to get those little bits of fuzz, which is why I got it in the first place. The added brushes in the Sweep Up make it a bit harder to push, but worth the effort.
Users who have problems with this handle coming apart might consider using some urethane glue in the joints.

I purchased this item for my friend who has four children under the age of 7yr. so that she could do a quick sweep of the carpet before using the vacuum. Her kids were up extra early the next day using the Bissell. She is totally amazed at how much it picks up, even hair. She brags to her other friends what a great gift she received. Her husband was a skeptic until he tried it. Now everyone wants to use the Bissell. Maybe they should come in a multi-pack.

This sweeper does a FABULOUS job cleaning the carpet! I tried it on all the junk that we find when we move the couch - yuk! After using this sweeper, it looked like it had been vacuumed! It doesn't pick up paper scraps off a hard floor too good, but I didn't really expect it to.
The reason THE HANDLE is so flimsy is that there is no way to make it more secure. The design is: one tapered end slides into another tapered end. Nothing to screw or click or anything which is why it falls apart. I'm not so worried about it because I got it for my little children to use, so it's the right height for them. :-) However, for adult use, I would suggest a sweeper with a different handle design - one that will screw or click together.

The sweeper works great.....really picks up everything, but the handle is flawed! It's a real pain because it falls apart all the time. Be careful it doesn't fall on your foot when you pick it up!

This is a handy sweeper. My 5yr old even uses it. The ONLY problem with this product is that the handle keeps coming off. I've hammered,glued,even stuffed it. It just won't stay on. I would recommend this product,but if you can find another sweeper with a handle that can stay on then you should buy that one instead.Thats exactly what I'm looking for now.

Great little sweeper. We use it all the time for those inbetween vacumming days. This is ideal for the elderly, since it eliminates the need to bend over and sweep dirt into a dust pan (thereby eliminating a possible fall). Picks up very well for a non motorized sweeper.
