I use this on our low-pile carpet and on hardwood floors; it works great on both, less great on an oriental rug and deeper pile carpets. Well-made, should last a long time, and at a great price. Must empty often, but that doesn't bother me. Lets me use the heavy vacuum much less often, yay!

I was very surprised at the amount of cat hair I found when I emptied the trays. Cleans up litter with ease. No loud motor to upset my dog.

Doesn't clean up dog hair from my hardwood floors as I expected, so I am disappointed. Works fairly well on carpet. One section of the handle doesn't want to stay on and I am constantly putting it back together. Good for picking up leaves and other small pieces of dirt from floors and carpet, but not long dog hairs.
