We have had this fountain about four months before writing this review.
This fountain is absolutely great and is better than expected. Set-up was quick and easy. The fan pattern of the water is easy to adjust but is not mentioned at all in the instructions. To adjust the size of the dome of water coming out all you need to do is turn the very top of the upright pipe while holding it at a lower point. By getting it just right you can have the water touch the dog's nose once or twice a minute which keeps a few drips falling off the dog's tongue for an absulute natural look. The detail of the boy and the puppy are very realistic. We just love it.
We have many, many outdoor decorator items and this is definitely in the top two. I am very glad we purchased it.
It is at a good price which is made even better by using the ship to store for free option. It arrived in a few days from placing the order.
It runs on a timer (we supplied) for 10 hours a day and there have not been any problems.
The only downside thing has been on windy days. The winds disrupts the dome of water and basically inverts it causing the water to splash out. This could cause the fountain to run out of water if the situation wasn't monitored. We just usually turn it off if there is too much wind which has only happened several times.
We use distilled water in the fountain to prevent build up of minerals from out of the water. So thus far the fountain looks close to new.
I would highly recommend it.

I am very pleased with this fountain. It looks great although it is darker than it appears in the picture. It is not obvious in the picture that it is made from two pieces. The boy, dog and a section of the base is one piece and the other piece is the actual fountain. Set-up would have been simple except that the pipe where the cord runs through was too long which prevented the center dome from setting in the right place. The pipe is a thin plastic so it was possible to use sandpaper to file about 1/2 inch off one edge of the pipe to allow it to fit properly. If it wasn't for that I would have given it 5 stars. The end of the nozzle where the water comes out screws to adjust the diameter of the water spray which allows you to put it right at the end of the dog's nose. That really adds to the overall appearance.
