Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Framing Strips (26w/Ah):
I live in fridge Upstate NY over 100" snow on my 2 skylights each winter. I needed to eliminate condensation forming on skylight glass. As they drip into living room. In the past I used just shrink film/tape method. Which worked Ok but not easy to put up and take down. As you do have to remove in summer due to heat in skywell.
Now I found the Ace framing channel /retaining strip method, From the previous comments I tried it....It went up easily and looks great.
Wish me luck I'll tell you how it worked this spring!

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Framing Strips (26w/Ah):
I tried to use this product outside with Ace clear plastic, every time I tapped the strips into the channel, the plastic was cut in two. I tried over and over, even heating the plastic and channel, without success, and gave up in frustration.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Framing Strips (26w/Ah):
I have used this before on the inside and it works great. I nailed the strip down so that I could use it for many years without it pulling up when removing the retaining strips. The strips snap into the channel securely. Works nicely if two people do it but one person can manage it. I've used the blow dryer stuff but like this a lot better. Once installed you can tag it and reinstall on the same window the following year if you use heavier plastic like 2mil.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Framing Strips (26w/Ah):
We wanted to create a 'dead air space' under some skylights and used this product along with some clear 5 mil mylar film.
It works great once you get the hang of it. After mounting the channels on the wood surrounding the skylight opening (the adhesive is very effective) you then cut the mylar to the same dimension as the outer edge of the channel so as to provide the proper bordering. Then use thumb tacks to position the mylar evenly and tightly in place on the channel at the 4 corners. Then cut the retainers to fit and apply to opposite sides, starting in the middle and working toward the corners. Remove the thumb tacks when you reach them in the process. Then likewise apply the retainers to the remaining opposite sides. If opening is rectangular, retain the narrow dimension first. Result is a glass-like nearly invisible seal.
