I purchased this feeder from a non-Ace source 12 years ago and used it continuously year round. I did my best to clean it while assembled. This year I decided to take it apart to give it a thorough clean. BAD IDEA. I finally gave up trying to fit the little tabs at both ends of all 3 tubes--when one end fit the other popped out of the tabs---I finally threw it away and went to Ace and bought a new one. BUT I didn't realize until I got the new one home that it was assembled with only 2 of the 3 tubes in place. I have tried and tried and can't get it together--even with help. So my wife is going to give me a new one for Xmas from Ace but you can believe that before I put any seeds in it I will make sure it is assembled correctly.

You definitely need to purchase a squirrel baffle for the bottom (ACE did not have one, so I purchased one identical to the roof of this feeder at [...] for [$]). Also the pole is a bit flimsy, so I drove 3 - 3/8" rebar in the ground in the bottom pole section for stability. The sunflower feeder stations are aluminum, but the thistle seed options are plastic and the perches broke the first year, so I now have a 2 - tube feeder. I dismantle to clean in the spring which is doable, but takes an hour or so and requires some work. I've used this feeder year-round for four years and am quite satisfied. If I could only find replacement finch station parts I'd give it 5 stars...

In less than a year the bottom part has big holes from squirrels and there are no trees near. They climb the pole and have literally destroyed what I thought was beautiful. Had one like it made of metal lasted over ten years.
