This is a bit less robust than a B&D workmate I bought in UK for about the same price, and I would have preferred that model. But this is the first time I've found this product in USA, and it surprises me that folks still use the less versatile saw horses for home projects.

Oregon Native: The Workmate® 425 has the feature you are describing. While one handed operation could be convenient, I'll be happy to pay and use both hands over to use one. I've been wanting one of these for years... it may be time.

I have had the 225 workmate for years and love it! I recently bought this one for my Dad. These are very sturdy! The only problem that I have with this new one is that you cant turn one handle to open or close the clamps. Mine is the 225 type 2, this one is a type 5, I am assuming the fifth generation. The type 2 which I have is capeable of opening and close the main vise with one hand There is a "track" that turns both handles when one is turned. This newer model(type 5) doesnt have that feature. That is my only con.
