Looking to buy more!! Used these for a 15 x 24 UV protected tarp to shade my dogs kennel so rain water would drain & tarp wouldn't fail due to weight. I had brass on hand but choose these primarily because being plastic I didn't need to worry about rusting and much, much, easier to install. I used the tip of scissors to make a small hole in tarp, did use the rubber washer, assembled and squeezed with pliers till I heard them snap together. As it was an after thought I already had the tarp up but only needed an inch or so of slack to assemble and get pliers on it. Would definitely use these again!

Except for the automatic donut hole making claim, product works as well or better than advertised. You will definitely need a 1/2" hole punch. One-three extra reinforcement layers are needed for non-tarp type(like plastic sheeting) materials. I used a thin reinforced outdoor material and sandwiched the main material. Rubber washers/spacers come with the set but I did not use them with all the added layers. The grommet parts cooperate nicely by staying in place without being held while you swing the hammer. I have not used them yet so cannot say how they will hold up under stress. I suspect they will stay together under light duty but would not venture a guess about extreme situations.
