I did not have any difficulty inserting the rubber strip and glass shelf. Others seemed to have trouble getting it in, mine went right in. However, seems the glass is very easy to pull straight out. It's pushed in all the way, but seems like the slot in the rubber strip is too wide. I dont know if I trust putting anything breakable or heavy on it. Also, the plastic endcaps do not fit properly at all.

I have two of these shelves in a nook above my fireplace to display little figurines, pictures, etc. While they were a little finnicky to install and the end caps don't fit on the frames too well, I think they are very sturdy and look quite nice in the space. I was looking for glass curio shelves for this nook, and everything I looked at was incredibly expensive or not at all what I wanted. These shelves serve their purpose, look very nice, and were very affordable in a student budget!

This was so frustrating when trying to insert the glass into the rubber strip. But after reading the comment about the hairdryer, I used one and got it to fit in 2 mins!! Thank you so so so so so so so much to the person that reccomended using the hairdryer!!!!

I found it hard to get the glass to slip in until I heated the rubber strip with a hair dryer. Then I pushed the glass in at an angle. If you try to push straight in there is more resistance and it won't go into the strip.

I have to disagree with the other post on how much trouble it was to install, maybe the rubber piece was defective... and if so I just return for replacement or refund which is no issue with Ace!
Mine on the other hand, which I am buying 2 more today to handle my added HR Hurricane Glass collection that have been sitting on the 5 glass shelves I had bought and have hanging for over 3 years now with no issues.

This was the worst piece of junk i ever purchased! I originally bought a shelf and it was to narrow, and saw this one and thought it would be perfect. I installed the bracket and followed the instructions very closely. It calls for a rubber strip that is placed in the back of the bracket to hold the glass in place. It states on the instructions that if the glass is not slipping into the rubber, then simply rub some dish soap on the back side of the glass. We drenched it after a dozen tries, and even soaked the rubber in warm water to try and make it more "flexible". After yet another dozen times, i decided to use cooking oil, and oiled the glass and the rubber strip. Still wouldn't go in. Eventually, i used a razor blade and trimmed the rubber oh so slightly. Still no go. Finally, i took the bracket off the wall, boxed it back up, and returned it. My advise is to keep looking, and don't settle for this worthless shelf.
