Just finished my first two batches of strawberry jam using this machine and the jam came out great. I used the recipe that was in the included recipe book. The jam maker takes all the guess work out of making the jam and saves you from standing over the hot stove stirring away for 20 minutes. I also like that it allows you to make a small batch (four half pint jars); perfect for smaller families. I used a hot water bath to preserve my jam, but you also have the option of using the jam right away or freezing it. If you decide to freeze it, I would suggest using the plastic freezer containers that Ball now sells.
