- Attractive Design
- Difficult Assembly
Comments about PRIME LINE Prime-Line Pull & Keyed Locking Unit (141860):
In assembling the two parts I found the outside surface of the lock to come about 1/16" shy of being flush with the outside surface of the handle. After several attempts at completing the assembly, making adjustments, cutting stems off too short, buying new locks, and searching the Internet, I could not determine why the key just would not turn after the assembly was complete. Finally I realized the key-entry end of the cylinder was consistently binding with the inside surface of the hole in the door handle. To free up these surfaces I thought I'd try making the hole bigger. I just didn't think that two parts sold in the same package would not fit together. I enlarged the hole a small amount with a ¾" x 1-1/16" conical pointed grinding stone bit.
I then completed the installation. Now the outside surface of the lock is flush with the outside surface of the door handle, the key turns freely, and the lock functions flawlessly. I would have used a rating of five stars if the parts had fit together correctly in the first place.
