Comments about TAKAGI Shark® Carpentry Saw:
This is my only saw and I use it for lumber, pruning, and whatever else. It fits in my toolbox easily; the 12" blade saw is less than 18" with handle. It is less work than a 'traditional' push saw, and the cuts are so smooth they require little if any sanding. This cuts 2x4's very nicely, but if you need to do this often and faster, sharksaw.com does make longer blades to make this even easier. My only complaint is that I don't need a saw often enough. Whenever I do, I use this. I guard it carefully so friends and family don't try to keep it because everyone who uses it wants one. I plan to buy more of their products, like the compass saw and pruning blade.
