Traps are easy to bait, set and release. I recommend imbedding some peanuts and bird seed into peanut butter spread on the bait plate. I really think it's the peanut butter that gets them! They are able to steal loose seed, but they must put pressure on the plate to lick off the peanut butter. I've trapped and relocated 18 squirrels so far! And none of them have been able to damage the cage. I found that the 24" cage is more effective than the 18" one for squirrels, because the larger squirrels can simply back out of the smaller cage with your bait in their mouths even after the trap has been sprung.
