Comments about 3M Safest Stripper® Paint Stripper - 2 Pack:
I used this to remove paint on my kitchen cabinets. it worked real well and if I had to leave it for a while I covered it in saran wrap and it was fine until(even overnight) I could get back to it. I think is is a great product. I do not understand the negative comments. I am getting ready to do another kitchen job and look forward to using it again.

Comments about 3M Safest Stripper® Paint Stripper - 2 Pack:
I am using this product to remove Cetol (varnish like product) from the teak decks of a boat. It is effective when liberally applied, recoated after 15-20 minutes and a scraper and heat gun are used to remove the loosened varnish. It is very good on a boat where environmental regulations are stringent. The only shortcoming is that it dries out fairly fast thus the necessity for re-coating.

Comments about 3M Safest Stripper® Paint Stripper - 2 Pack:
Garbage. Can't deal with methylene chloride fumes and solvent cleanup, so I tried this which is half the price of another clean and eco-friendly stripper. You get what you pay for. Tried a relatively thick coat on wood door with only two coats of latex paint, 11 years old. After one hour, most of the stripper evaporated and dried out, weakening only one layer of paint, but difficult to scrape off. Poured and lathered half a gallon of the stuff on one side of door. After two hours of setting, most still evaporated. Sorry, shouldn't have to cover up a gel/paste if setting for only a few hours. After that, barely removed first coat and that rather arduously. Instructions say to reapply if drying out. So, I could buy 15 gallons to finish my job or, pay a little more for stuff that works. Don't use this.

I have used this product many times and have had great success. It is the easiest, quickest, best way to remove stains and varnish. I don't understand the other reviews. Every time I used it, it did an excellent job of taking off the finish without fumes and danger to yourself. It can get messy, but that's ok since it works!

Comments about 3M Safest Stripper® Paint Stripper - 2 Pack:
This product is quite possibly the worst thing I have bought ever! I have refinished a lot of furniture and have always used solvent based strippers. I decided to try this product because of the low odour. I bought it to refinish a double bed - mahogany veneer with a thick cracked layer of varnish. I followed the manufacturer's instructions on the product. I left it on for an hour, and it did not remove any finish. I tried applying a second thicker coat, at this point I had used nearly the entire 1L bottle, left it for another 2 hours and came back and tried again, I scrapped off all the goo, and used the scouring pad thingy, very little finish was removed in irregular patches too, on top of that it was a pain to remove all the product that did not work. I'm writting 3M and asking for my [$] back.

I bought this product to strip the paint off a wooden door so that I could stain the door. As another reviewer said, there was no clear way for me to tell if this stuff was working or not.
I even went a step further and coated my door in the stripper, wrapped it in plastic and left it sit over night expecting better results.
In some areas the stripper dried and other areas it barely touched the first layer of paint!
I would recommend buying Dad's Easy Spray stripper, if you can find it. It comes with a handy spray bottle so that you can spray an even coat on, and scrape it off. The spray is also useful in that you can spot treat areas that you may have missed or are tougher to get off.

Comments about 3M Safest Stripper® Paint Stripper - 2 Pack:
I opted for this product based on it's "safeness". It has low odor and can be used indoors. I found that after waiting the 3 hours stated on the packaging for latex paint that it hadn't penetrated the paint or made it soft enough for removal. The product dried up in areas and the paint recongealed / hardened to the point that the stripper was rendered useless. There is also no clear indicator that it's working. It took several "tests" to find out whether the paint was soft enough to remove. In the past I've used harsh chemical strippers and they bubble as the paint becomes soft enough. After using an entire bottle of this product on a coffee table coated with only a single layer of latex paint I still have about 90% of the table with paint on it. Needless to say I'm terribly disappointed.I've now wasted almost [$] on this product when I could have used the harsher product and been done with my project. I won't be using this product again. I'd rather deal with the fumes and get the job done in the first pass than have to do several (I'm guessing 3 or 4 bottles of this product for a single coffee table) treatments.[...]
