I have wanted a power planer for quite a while. I ripped out the walls in the bathroom to to put up hardi-backer board so I could tile, and the support framing around the window was outboard of the wall framing by about 1/4". I attempted to saw even with the adjacent board, but this was difficult.
I ran to the store, bought this baby, and planed all 4 surrounding boards in about 20 minutes. I had checked for nails, but hit one anyway. This thing shaved off about 1/3 of the nail head, and showed no signs of damage on the blades.
Great way to remove material., and a well built machine.
My only complaint, is once you assemble the bag for sawdust, it will not fit in the carry case. Not a big deal. Comes with a shop vac attachment as well. I wish I had bought this years ago.
