Worth the price
This is a nice cheap little grinder, in fact, it is the same exact unit as an ISE Badger 1 for $10 less. Both are made by Emerson Electric and both are entry level...Read complete review
This is a nice cheap little grinder, in fact, it is the same exact unit as an ISE Badger 1 for $10 less. Both are made by Emerson Electric and both are entry level models. Keep in mind this unit is great for grinding soft stuff like lettuice, orange peels, potato skins, cleaning off dinner plates, etc. It is NOT made to grind chicken bones, peach pits, cherry pits, or anything else that is real hard. That being said, I have had very good luck with them and have one in my house. My original ace grinder was replaced after 12 years of faithful service and i just finished replacing the 14 year old one in my girlfriends house with another of these gems. For the price and ease of changing them (literally did it in six minutes), I can replace it twice for the same money as an "upgraded unit" which may or may not last any longer.

Bought a townhome 1 year used 3 months ago (making the disposal 15 months old at most) Been noisy since using it but it worked ok, not recommended for corn cobs and the likes. Just noticed a small leak when using it coming from 4 inch crack down casing. Probably worth the extra money to get the next one with a tougher shell.

Okay, I live in apartments where the the manager is cheap and he installed this about a year ago and a few months. It has a big crack already and if we use one side of the sink it leaks beneath the sink. It also clogs very easy because even when I take care of it, like putting those aluming caps so that I can remove it and throw it in my trash, is not enough. So needless to say it's cheap and will cost more in the long run and now I have to go look for another one because if I call the manager he will blame it on me and then charge me twice as much and will install this one again. So people avoid these problems and go check out some other ones.

Bought this unit a year ago, Love Ace but this product had very normal household use and the plastic casing is already cracked and leaks. See other reviews having the same problem. So will only recommend to stay away from this brand with plastic casing... Lesson learned.

We installed this thing about a year ago after the old one wore out and already it has a pinhole somewhere in the casing and if you let the water run too long on the right side of the sink it starts leaking all in the cabinet below it. It was hard to install. And to me it just seems cheap all around. Next time I have to replace it, I will defiantly get one with a metal casing and not the ACE brand. Its cheaply made and causes nothing but problems.

I replaced the original unit that came with the house 5 years ago. The house is 10 years old, so these things last only 5 years under normal service. That ain't long enough in my book. Going with an In-sink-erator this time.

The contractor installing my dishwasher replaced my 3/4 disposal with this. What was he thinking?
It is 2 small and 2 noisy for our kitchen although we live in a condo. The neighbors can hear it every time I turn it on. I don't know why he didn't replace it with the same size unit I had before. That was perfect After 25 years it just wore out.
I do not recommend this unit and I don't recommend the contractor. Neither one of them did a good job.

After nearly 10 years, our 1/3 hp economy model has given up the ghost. It's been a reliable entry level disposer. Compared to some of our friends' disposers, it is quiet as well. Maybe I'll upgrade to a 1/2 hp this time.
