Bought this on a one day sale off the website. Within a week the item was at my store for pickup. I watched an install video and made sure I bought one that had a similar hinge connector at the neck so that I didn't have to reinstall those parts. So the install was pretty smooth. You do need two people to lift and push the motor on to the hinge because of the rubber seal resistance and because 3/4 motor is heavy. I did have to buy a connector for the drain pipe because the builder installed a part with glue that wouldn't come apart. Very happy the motor is strong enough for chicken bones now and proud that I did it myself.

This replaced a 1/3 hp GE model. What a difference. It is smooth running and quiet. It will take 2 people to install just to get it lifted up under the sink. This is a winner for sure.

Somewhat easy to install, (be advised, it weighs a little bit), but it works well. Seems to be quieter than the other brand, (1/2 HP), it replaced. Only time will tell if it's a good value. The purchase could be perfect if the disposal came with the required plumber's putty needed for installation.

bought on line with ship to store.. took 3 days to get it, super!!! and well within price range i had budgeted. had to have it installed(medical) but repairman took about 30 minutes to take old one out and put new one it. works like a charm, it's quiet and efficient. if this one ever breaks, i'm getting another one just like it. it is so nice and easy

This unit was purchased based upon price and the reviews on the Ace Hardware website and I am very pleased with it. I opted for the Ace model 4000 to replace an older Insinkerator brand disposal and the installation was very straightforward. The unit coupled directly to the flange already installed on the bottom of the sink and total installation time was approximately 45 minutes. The unit comes with everything needed, including a stopper for the sink. I do recommend that you check your waste drain tube and purchase a new one with the disposer if needed, I purchased Ace part number 48279 with my unit due to a very slight difference in the new plumbing from the old unit.
The instructions are well written, installation is easy, all of the plumbing was right there on the shelf with the units-and the price is very comparable to other retailers, excellent customer service and warranty made this an easy choice.

After much research between a 3/4 HP InSinkErator brand disposal and Ace's 5/8 HP disposal, I opted for the Ace brand. There was a cost difference of about $50 between the disposal at the big box store and the Ace dispoal, with Ace being the lower price.

There is a slight difference in motor horsepower, but to what extent will that difference mean to what I put into the disposal? I don't know.

The Ace disposal is made by InSinkErator. The throat (opening at the sink flange) of the Ace/ISE is about 3-1/2" other brands are smaller.

The warranty on this unit is 4 year which I like, and it is the same as the ISE 3/4 HP disposal.

Does it operate quietly? Yes. That is due to the rubber mounting gasket, and probably the foam insulation that's added around the disposal when it is manufactured. Remember that a disposal only runs a few minutes at a time, so is noise really a concern? Probably not.

There are a few items to purchase before getting into the project as they will cut down on installation time.

A) Purchase a dishwasher drain hose kit if you have a diswasher. Since you're under the sink, put a new one in.

B) Puchase plumbers putty or siliconized tub and tile caulk. Depending on the material your sink is made of, one or the other is needed to secure the disposal flange to the sink.

C) You may need a disposal power cord. If the one that's on old unit is in good condition, reuse it. Otherwise, play it safe and get a new one.

D) With the cord, you'll need a twin screw clamp connector to secure the cord at the disposal.

Total installation time, including removal of the old disposal was 45 minutes. And this was my first time installing a disposal.

Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase, the installation, and the operation of the disposal. I hightly recommend this model of disposal.

Replaced slightly less powerful disposal that was leaking. Opted for this model because of sound insulation. Replacement was easy, straight forward. Could have used a second person when actually fitting disposal to sink. Operation is very quiet, very smooth. Very pleased so far.

Bought one of these several years ago and still going strong in my home. Been very happy with it...now told the disposal in a condo we own is leaking and replacing that one with this same model that we had put in our home. Like the price, like the warranty, like the unit. Noise is less than the one our home came with, the power is fine, all around good unit.
