I waited till 8pm when it is cooler and they are less active. The location of the hive was at second floor roofline. The aim and shooting distance of the product is good so i only needed a short ladder. Its not the final remedy, after you are done more steps are neccesary to take to guarantee no return of pest.

I had to get right up to the nest in order to get the wasp. It killed them alright but I expected to be able to stand out at least 10 feet away.

Recently, I discovered a 1" mud wasp nest about 8 feet up, outside my home. Within 2 days it had quadrupled in size. Allergic to bees, and with small children at home, I needed to get rid of it quickly.
I followed the directions on the can but waited until 10 pm to spray the nest. I donned a hoodie, leather jacket, jeans, work boots and wrapped a scarf around my face and mouth and launched my attack. (Quite the fashion statement)
I tested the spray stream on the front yard and was relieved to see that it has some real power behind it. I quickly but thoroughly sprayed the nest and ran into the house. They did not make it out of the nest to chase me.
30 minutes later, I checked on the nest and there was no sign of activity. I sprayed it again the following night and the night thereafter. Once again, there was no sign of activity.
It has been just under a week and I am still wasp free.
