i do not like this popper. It gets very hot to touch,leaves way to many un popped kernnels, butter melts to quick and makes what has popped, soggy. going back to an air popper, i think. Kids can't use this one, way to hot

I LOVE this popcorn popper!!! As for the butter being slow to melt, I microwave it for a few seconds before I put it in the butter well. The base does get hot, but I grab it w/pot holders and it hasn't been a problem. I would buy it again, I do not like microwave popcorn. I recommend it to everyone.

This makes very nice popcorn, but I'm looking for a replacement. The bottom gets so hot that mine melted the edge of the bowl. The butter compartment is useless, as the popcorn pops before the butter can melt fully. The small plastic butter compartment lid doesn't snap in place any more, which makes the bowl now uselss. I think I'll try a hot air popper, and if I want buttered popcorn, I'll melt it in the microwave.
