Comments about Black & Decker® Toast-R-Oven (TR0490W):
Bought this to replace 17+ year-old Black & Decker toaster oven that still worked as an oven but the toaster function had stopped working (plus it was greasy and gross). The previous oven was much simpler to use. This one: you have to turn at least two knobs just to get your toast toasted, which is a pain at 6:00 a.m.
Nice touches: it's a little bit larger inside (four slices instead of two), there are two slots so you can raise/lower the rack, and the "baking pan" (chintzy) can be slid under the rack to catch crumbs, which helps keep crumbs under control. Plus, there is a separate crumb catcher that slides out to empty, so you don't have to pick up the entire unit and shake it out, like the old one. This is nice.
If you want a good quality, versatile counter-top oven, spend some decent money and go to a kitchen store and get something good. If you're looking for something inexpensive that works okay, this is fine, if a bit over-complicated.
