Developed condensation at the top 1/3 of the thermometer which made it hard to read at the top temperatures. Used once to fry chicken. We were very careful to keep the tip off the bottom of the pan. Was not jostled and was handled carefully during frying. Discovered the tip had broken off when removed from the pan. Wish I had looked at reviews before purchasing.

bought two of these thermometers and both filled up with fry oil inside before reaching temperature - tossed them both

When making yogurt, the thermometer was almost impossible to read due to internal condensation. Then the tip broke (probably the second or third use).

we have bought two of these and both glass tips cracked in the yogurt. we had to throw out the yogurt in fear of glass shards. it is a shame because we liked the compactness and performance otherwise but it is a flimsy construction. we had recommended the same product to a friend and she hers broke at the tip.
