The double-sided tape fails in direct sunlight, but the switch can be screw mounted. Pre-drill the plastic and the mounting surface. Take care not to bend the base piece. It will affect the upper portion and may open up battery contacts. The bottom mount can be carefully re-flattened with a hammer.

Own for less than a year and one of the door bell buttons quit working. Batteries are fine. Back door bell works, front doesn't.
