The item was cracked and so did not work so well. Handle is great and did not get hot. I will have to wait to return it before I can fully rate it.

First, this is 2.5 QT, Second it is a humidifier and not a teakettle I suspect the paint they used is lead based and/or there is a high lead content in the iron.
The description as a teakettle is misleading if you want to use it for a tea kettle
