Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace Flexible Two Way Shut Off Splitter:
I purchased an "Ace Flexible Two Way Shut Off Splitter" (Item no: 7303324 | 082901260356) this spring. It worked well for most of the season but broke when I tried to remove the hoses.
Despite being advertised as being "Metal", I found that the female coupling is connected to the main plastic body by a hard pressed-in plastic "tube" which only has 1/8" walls. That's pretty a flimsy connection.
Additionally, the female coupling seems to be made of aluminum which corrodes when connected to a brass hose bib due to a galvanic reaction. (Dissimilar metals in contact produce corrosion in the presence of moisture.) The corrosion was enough that I was not able to loosen the coupling by hand.
