I bought this fan on sale for less than $30...watch for sales. Many of the parts are metal and sturdy though the blades are plastic. Had a little trouble assembling as the directions were not clear, but the fan is not too complicated. Once assembled, I love it. Quiet, sturdy, versatile (can be in fixed or oscillating mode) and it helps circulate the air extremely well. No regrets, and I can recommend it especially if you can get a sale.
