I love these caps. I don't do lots of canning but I like making all types of things like kefir, ghee, skillet jam, salsa, yogurt, etc. I use all my various size ball jars for these and use the lids along with them to store all the mentioned above and more. I use them often. I wash often and have not had a problem. I make homemade yogurt with half pint jars and these lids in my cockpot; works great. They make it easy to transport salad dressing or wet items in half cup jars, pint jars, quart jars, etc.

These plastic lids make using your home-made jams and jellies easy! Once you open a jar with the canning tops, substitute these lids, and avoid the aggravation of taking off the canning parts every time you use the jams. I even give the tops with gifts of jam and jellies that I make.
