The screws are difficult to thread initially. Some silicone grease made that much easier. The Mfr does include a tool to help with these screws. After a use or two, it is much easier to turn the screws. Getting the tree in the stand is very simple, and getting the tree aligned is very easy with this stand. Not sure why some folks had difficulty in aligning a tree. I usually use 7 - 8 foot trees, and there has never been a problem. Adding water is fool-proof too. All in all, a great purchase.

HORRIBLE! Truly, a bucket would be better to use than this. Not only is it near impossible to get the screws in the stand, once in the stand there is almost no way at all to make the tree stand up straight. To add insult to injury, it was just as difficult to screw apart!

This tree stand looked like the best fit for out needs but after trying, with three people, to get the tree to remain upright and not list at a thirty degree angle we gave up and went out in search of a new stand. The plastic is too flexibile to remain flat on the floor which also makes it difficult to keep the tree straight. The longer the tree stood, the more crooked it got! The screws were very difficult to tighten fully because the plastic holes were a bit too tight, but they were eventually fully tightened, so that does not explain the leaning. I would not recommend this stand to anyone with a tree over 5' if at all. This was a 7' medium width tree so we were well within the specified size limitation.This stand will be returned to the store first thing in the morning.

We have used this tree stand for the past four years. It has held up very well each year. It has a very study base and I have never worried about the tree tipping over. It has always felt very secure. The plastic is very strong. This year one of the screws wasn't tightening into the pastic as it should have, but I think maybe screwing a nut on the outside of the plastic will fix this issue and hold the screw as tight as it needs to be. If not, I would definately buy another one. And, every year, we have a 10-12 foot tree. I just noticed on the picture that it states 8ft tree. It holds our larger tree just fine!
