The protractor will work for the diy guy. It is plastic but is fine for light use. Pros may want something more rugged but as for me to check inside angles for crown molding this was perfect. Cheap but does the job.

Comments about GENERAL TOOLS General® Protractor/Angle Finder:
This protractor is perfect! In its parallelogram configuration, you can easily find an angle between two surfaces, either on the inside (using the joint between the bars) or outside (when the long bar is aligned with the center of the scale). The set screw means the reading won't change, or you can set an angle and move your pieces until they match. It even includes a vernier scale [@] for measurements accurate to ~10 seconds!Cons: I wish they made a version out of metal, because the plastic is a little flimsy. Also, the set screw can come off and get lost. As another comment points out, it doesn't come with instructions, but after a little playing around with it, you should be able to figure it out.
