Deer routinely ravage our landscaping and the problem seems to get worse every year. The welded metal fencing, when used to enclose plants and anchored, keeps the deer away. I looked for this at other hardware stores and garden centers and no one had anything similar. Great stuff.

It's easy to use this welded wire and some metal fence posts and galvanized wire to create a place to contain leaves and grass clippings as they turn into soil through the mulching process. Just layout a shape (circle, square, rectangle, it doesn't matter). Pound in an adequate number of metal posts. Use galvanized wire to fasten the welded wire mesh to the posts, leaving an opening wide enough for your mower bag and wheelbarrow to pass through. Cut a rectangular piece of the mesh large enough to overlap the opening and wire it to swing from one side so it can serve as a door - you just wire it shut temporarily on the other side when you close it. If you like, you can also make a top for the mulch bin out of the welded wire mesh, too, but this may not be necessary. Then just pile in the leaves and yard waste, sprinkle some manure on it once in a while, sprinkle it with a hose from time to time, and turn it with a pitchfork now and then. You'll be making your own topsoil in no time!
