I first purchased this same Dirt Devil vacuum 12 years ago when I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment and it lasted that whole time. When I married my husband, he had his own huge vacuum that didn't work half as well as my Dirt Devil and so we only used the Dirt Devil to clean our 3 bedroom townhome. It's a wonderful machine that picks up dirt, cat hair, dust and is easy to transport all over the house. That's why I bought a brand new one because I wouldn't buy anything other than this vacuum.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this product...very light weight but works great ...we have both carpet and other flooring and the fact that I don't have to adjust it in every room is FANTASTIC..it keeps a consistant clean and I don't have to go over the same spot over and over again... It works great on stairs and thank goodness it only weighs 9 lbs because we lug it up and down THANKS for a great product!!!

Idon't know if there is a foam cover for the filter, but heres what I do to make cleaning the filter easier. I wrap the filter with paper towel on an angle. Put a rubber band top and bottom.Trim the ends with shears. Makes cleaning a whiz.
