As an apartment manager, I wanted something for the residents to store small garden tools and picnic supplies in, as well as wanting a bench for times when there were extra people. This answers every need, and I'm now going to buy one for the pool area, to store pool toys in, to keep the area looking less cluttered.
It wasn't a snap to put together, as there were no instructions, but a little head scratching was really all it took to figure it out (I presume there usually are instructions). It fit together terrically.
Regarding the idea of it being waterproof, I'm not seeing any problem. The lid covers it completely, and unless you plan to submerse it, water shouldn't get in. Everything has stayed completely dry in ours.

I wanted a storage container to store my Deck Furniture cushions in in the Winter. What I got was not exactly was
pictured in the Ad. The problems I observed after I took the
parts out of the Shipping Box.
1. The parts still had flashing on them when they were removed
the mold ( when they were made).
2. There were gaps were the sides came together (Not Very
waterproof).
I bought the Vertical Storage Shed 3749-AT-OLVSS and it was
perfect. I don't how 2 products from the same company could
be so direct opposite in construction & workmanship.
I bought a storage chest that was one Piece unit with a
watertight Lid for half the price and It DOESN'T Leak from
another company.

This box is as nice but it isn't 23 inches deep on the inside. At its deepest, it is 21 inches. This is not a rectangular box so at the four curved corners you also lose some space.

Great for storing trash bags out of sight and away from animals until garbage pickup. Also good for storing gardening supplies like watering cans, etc. Unlike other brands, the Rubbermaid box is actually sturdy enough to use as extra seating.

When we bought our patio set 10-12 years ago, we could not find a deck box big enough to hold our full length cushions. Well, over time, they have gotten sun bleached and stained from sitting out all summer. When planning a party, we had to bring the cushions inside in case of rain. What a pain! I have just cleaned them and wanted a solution.
This box will solve all of this! It's large enough, but too large. It assembled in 5 minutes. The fit and finish of the parts was very good. Cushions fit perfectly. The other person must have gotten a bad unit. Mine is great!
