Dont forget to drill an 1/8 inch hole,angled downward,in the discharge pipe between the pump and check valve to prevent an airlock in the pump volute. (its in the instructions)

I have had this pump for about a month. Installation was a breeze. Took about 1 hour. I got the battery from a local farm store. Deep cycle marine, maintenance free. I hooked the battery water sensor to the + pole of the battery as recommended. This appears to be a red version of the bwsp including the dual float. The charger keeps the battery above 13 volts and does not charge most of the time, since it so far, only runs when I test it. It empties the pit fast with a 8 foot lift. I will check the fluid level, test the floats, and check battery voltage once a month, to be sure.
Hope I never need it, but I sleep better at night.

This battery back-up sump pump saved our basement and contents. When we built, we already had a barrel and sump pump installed. While out one Spring evening, a rain storm had knocked out our power, and our pump. We came home just in time to deal with this situation, but immediately went to our local Ace hardware the following day to see if they offered anything in case the power went out. We brought home and installed this battery back-up sump the next day. That was 5 years ago and it still saves us today!
