I bought this product since our room with the fireplace would always be so cold and the room has been much warmer since we installed the chimney umbrella. It was easy to setup and install only took us about 15mins and it works very well. It is a bit pricey but am hoping to recoup the cost on energy savings....

I have 3 fireplaces, but bought one plug first to see how it would work. All 3 are very different sizes and this plug fit well for each one- just changing the placement and amount of air inflated. I'm not sure about the issue one person had with their damper lever being in the way, because the plug is designed so it can be cut several places in the middle to allow the lever to pass through. Also, even if it's not a perfect seal I think it's sufficient and it's still a lot better than not having anything there at all. I'm now ordering two more for the other fireplaces.

The plug leaves gaps where the pillow dimples as you inflate it. Even fully inflated and tight most of the way around, there are are still gaps where cold air comes in. So, it is effectively useless.

I bought one and it would not install around my damper handle. The damper handle is a rigid metal bar that sticks down below the damper in the middle. This plug would not install around that handle, So I had to return it.
